■Bressers Architecten is a Ghent-based practice with roots dating back to 1864. Today, they merge heritage, contemporary architecture, and research into projects of lasting value.
That vision is reflected in their branding: understated, modular, and deeply connected to their architectural language. Abstract forms, inspired by historical structures, form the foundation of a visual identity that adapts seamlessly across media—thoughtful, timeless, and human-centered.
A Monogram at the Core
The identity starts with the monogram. Inspired by historic lettering, woven patterns, and ornamental details from architectural contexts, it translates tradition into a contemporary design.
The shapes are rhythmic and abstract, yet remain legible—a symbol that conveys both structure and refinement. This monogram forms the graphic cornerstone of the entire brand identity.
A Logo that Adapts to Its Context
The logo combines the monogram with a clean typographic element set in Neue Montreal by Pangram Pangram. Together, they balance architectural subtlety with modern clarity.
Constructed on a four-column grid, the logo is flexible and scalable—from building signage to digital applications. A system that adapts to its surroundings without losing its essence.
Forms as a Visual Language
The abstract forms derived from the logo act not only as letters but also as building blocks of a broader graphic system.
They appear as image masks, textures, or bold compositional elements in posters and print materials. This creates a distinctive visual language that feels both playful and refined—always in dialogue with the content.
A Personal Yet No-Nonsense Website
Bressers Architecten sought a digital environment that highlights both their rich history and their contemporary work—without unnecessary visual noise.
The result is a calm, poetic design, enhanced with subtle animations that guide the visitor through the story. No clutter, no excess—just space.
Typography with Character
For interactive elements, we designed a subtle button animation using two static weights of the same typeface family. Since no variable font was available, we built a custom transition where the text gently shifts in weight on hover.
This typographic detail reinforces the refined, layered identity of the website—a small interaction with meaningful brand impact.
